Leeds City Council laid on a home-coming party thronged by 5,000 residents for ‘white rose' medallists Nicola Adams, winner of the first-ever women's Olympic gold boxing medal; tri-athletes, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, who secured gold and bronze medals respectively; and cyclist Lizzie Armitstead, who secured silver in the women's cycling road race.
