The National Association of Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) has vowed to protect the pension rights of any council workers who transfer over to the third sector.
The NAVCA board of trustees has ruled that public sector workers should not lose out on pension rights, if their services are transferred. The trustees have also decided that any liabilities arising from the pension schemes should be borne by the commissioning organisation and not by the voluntary group which has taken over the service.
