More than half of local government staff (53.9%) harbour negative sentiments about working conditions.

More than half of local government staff (53.9%) harbour such negative sentiments about working conditions that they wouldn't recommend a job in the sector to anyone considering starting their career.

But the position is worse in central government, with almost two-thirds (63.3%) of civil servants feeling this way, according to a quarterly survey by recruitment firm, Badenoch and Clark, which also found one-fifth of government workers do not feel motivated in their job.
