Local government minister, Brandon Lewis, has held talks with Newcastle City Council over its funding settlement, which city officials claim has left it facing £100m of cuts over the next three years.
The meeting, at Eland House, was described as ‘positive and constructive', despite criticism of the current funding system from Newcastle leader, Cllr Nick Forbes, which appeared in The MJ last week.
