Newham was treated to a taste of the best in Indian fashion and culture last week as the London borough played host to Experience Kerala – the Newham Way. More than 3,000 people attended the colourful two-day event, designed to tell people about the history and culture of Kerala, the southern state of India. The programme included classical dance, martial arts, live music, palm reading, and displays of Kerala fashion and food. The event was organised by the Malayalee Association of the UK, in partnership with Newham LBC.
