Northamptonshire County Council - Various roles

Strategic Manager – Children in Need Service

Strategic Manager – Looked after Services (Safeguarding and Children's Services)

£65,000 - £77,000 per annum

Northamptonshire has been through challenging times with recent inspections for Safeguarding, Looked After Children and Adoption, and we are currently under an improvement direction from the Department for Education and have an independent Improvement Board. This is a time of change for Children's Social Care Services in Northamptonshire.

We are confident that, with the high level of political support and resources we now have in place, we will see rapid and sustained improvement over the next 18 months. The new leadership team is passionate about Making Children Safer in Northamptonshire. We have already implemented a number of significant changes to ensure we will deliver robust services to our most vulnerable children. This includes:

  • a full Social Care restructure
  • implementation of a fully functional Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
  • a full refresh of policies, procedures and service standards
  • delivery of the highly acclaimed Strengthening Practice Programme
  • a clear performance management framework across the Local Safeguarding Children Board partnership
  • a fully refreshed Corporate Parenting Board strategy and action plan that has already been judged by Ofsted as showing improvement to delivering strong outcomes for Looked After Children.

There is a long way to go and our determination and drive to deliver robust services for our most vulnerable children is our single priority throughout our improvement journey.

To join us on our journey, you need to be skilled at leading significant change and rapid improvement of Children's Social Care Services, able to engage the workforce and key partners effectively to drive improvements, and be a resilient and self-motivated leader who understands the business well.
