I arrived as transformation director at Northamptonshire CC in October 2018, about three months after the chief  executive Theresa Grant and a month before the new chief finance officer Ian Duncan. 

I'd seen lots of media coverage about the plight of the council and the two Section 114 notices issued, so the extent of the challenge was something I couldn't really resist. I was in the fortunate position to have worked with Theresa previously and with Ian at Trafford in Greater Manchester and my appointment was made by the Government-appointed commissioners.
