The Princess Royal will officially open the new-look Old Market Square in Nottingham next month, following a £7.6m redevelopment by the city council. The square is one of the oldest in the country and the second largest, after Trafalgar Square in London. ‘The new design is one of the highest quality, reflecting the square's strategic location at the heart of the city and importance in creating an impressive public space for the future,' said Nottingham City Council chief executive, Michael Frater.
