The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has said councils will be given advance warning about movement of nuclear fuel by rail.

Councils will be given advance warning on the movement of nuclear fuel by rail from Dounreay in Scotland to Sellafield in Cumbria, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has said.

The NDA has sought approval from two independent regulatory bodies for its plan to transport the breeder material for reprocessing, and has said local authorities will receive information to pass on to their communities.
