Sedgemoor DC has secured a range of planning controls and financial contributions to help offset the impact to the area of the planned new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point.
Under the Section 106 agreement, reached by power company, EDF Energy, with the council and neighbouring authorities, West Somerset DC and Somerset CC, £7.2m funding is available for housing schemes, transport improvements, skills and training leisure and community safety.
