Somerset county councillors have welcomed a decision by members of West Somerset DC's planning committee to approve site preparation for construction of the Hinckley Point C nuclear power station.
EDF is expected to submit a development consent order to the Infrastructure Planning Commission, which will make the final decision on the scheme, in September.
