Nuclear Free Local Authorities have expressed concern over proposals in the Planning White Paper to take development control powers away from councils. Instead, an appointed infrastructure planning commission would deal with plans. A spokesman for NFLA said the proposals for a planning commission ‘make a mockery' of the idea that these proposals will ‘improve the ability of the public and communities to participate effectively in the process'.
