Bury MBC leader Cllr Eamonn O’Brien is expected to take over as chair of the Local Government Association following the resignation of Cllr Louise Gittins.

Bury MBC leader Cllr Eamonn O'Brien is expected to take over as chair of the Local Government Association (LGA) following the resignation of Cllr Louise Gittins.

Appointed leader of Bury in 2020, O'Brien also holds the portfolio for technical education and skills and clean air for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
