Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew got in the swim of things to launch the 21st annual Swimathon at Cardiff City Council's Splott Pool. This year's marathon swim for charity hopes to raise £1.5m for Marie Cure Cancer Care, with local people able to set their own swimming challenges from distances of 1.5 to the highest five kilometres swim. ‘With a 21-year history, the Swimathon is the longest-standing event of its kinds. It is lots of fun and a perfect opportunity to increase fitness. We want everyone of all ages and abilities to sign up for the challenge,‘ said Duncan.
