IT firm Oracle has bought SPL WorldGroup, which provides revenues and operations management software for local authorities. SPL was bought for an undisclosed amount from private equity funds managed by GFI Energy Ventures. 'With the addition of SPL, Oracle plans to deliver the first end-to-end packaged revenue and operations management solution for investor-owned and public sector utilities,' said Oracle president, Charles Phillips. 'Oracle is putting utilities in control to enable greater business insight, increased profitability and customer loyalty.
