George Osborne has ruled out any changes to the pay bargaining structure for local government.

Chancellor George Osborne has ruled out any changes to the pay bargaining structure for local government, following speculation that he could seek to extend his planned experiment with regionalised civil service pay.

In advance of yesterday's Budget speech (21 March), Mr Osborne confirmed plans for regionalised pay structures for some civil and public servants. However, the Treasury later confirmed that the changes would not apply to councils.
