The public sector will have to get over its opposition to offshoring if it is going to make real efficiency savings, Rod Aldridge has warned. In an echo of comments he has previously made in his column in The MJ (see The MJ, 15 March), Mr Aldridge told delegates: ‘The logic for shared services is obvious, but the execution is pitiful.' Mr Aldridge is the former chairman of outsourcing company Capita. The firm plans to have 3,000 staff in India by 2009.
