The local branch of Unison has backed a petition against transferring environmental health and trading standards services over to a private company, as part of Barnet LBC's controversial outsourcing plans.
'The recent national scandal concerning meat processing is threatening to expose a catalogue of failures by food manufacturers to monitor their own suppliers,' said branch secretary, John Burgess.
