Wandsworth LBC is considering plans to intensify police patrols in local parks and open spaces as part of a drive to improve community safety.

Under the plan, up to 16 Metropolitan Police officers could be engaged to provide a ‘visible police presence' solely across the council's parks and commons. In recent years, responsibility for patrolling the borough's large green spaces has rested with the Wandsworth parks police service – specially-trained civilians.
