Tory Leader David Cameron has called on councils to the time it takes to pay small businesses. In a range of measures the Conservatives put forward to tackle the economic crisis, Mr Cameron accused Labour of ‘economic incompetence' for failing to put cash aside for a downturn. ‘Lots of our small businesses provide goods and services to local authorities, with payment normally coming within 30 days.' His comments echo a plan put forward to the SOLACE conference earlier this month.
