APA has welcomed news that the new police and crime commissioners will play a key role in shaping the new national Policing College.

The Association of Police Authorities (APA) has welcomed news that the new police and crime commissioners will play a key role in shaping the new national Policing College.

‘Their local responsibilities for public accountability, setting policing priorities, setting policing budgets and the establishing the style of policing ensures that the essential links between the local and the national are maintained in this vital area of policing,' said APA chair, Cllr Mark Burns-Williamson.
