Housing minister Grant Shapps has urged council leaders to protect a key fund designed to support vulnerable residents.

Mr Shapps argued leaders could ‘invest to save' through the Supporting People fund, after evidence suggested every pound spent on the scheme saves £3 by tackling the long-term cost of homelessness, tenancy failure and crime.
