Barrow BC treasurer Mohamed Saleh and chief environmental health officer Gary Ormondroyd are among 32 staff who have opted for voluntary redundancy as part of town hall cost cutting measures.

Mr Saleh, who joined the council in 1990, will be replaced by his deputy Susan Roberts. Mr Ormondroyd joined the council in 1984 but has been working in local government since 1971. His position will also be filled internally.
