More than £175m in long-term PFI projects has helped Integral deliver a 31% rise in its operating profit to £9m. Revealing its annual report, the property maintenance services firm highlighted that despite a tough economic climate, turnover had increased by £33m to £180m. Forward orders were also at record levels, with long-term PFI contracts being a major part in the success. Its fire division and recruitment agency had also performed well. As a result, Integral has expanded its workforce by 12% to 2,800, which now includes more than 1,280 directly-employed mobile skilled technicians across the UK. Managing director Bryan Glastonbury said: ‘It is in Integral's best interests to provide the high quality of service our clients demand to ensure we build on our retention levels. ‘We do not have to look for short-term gains.'
