The BBC has faced fresh criticism over its impartiality on reporting spending cuts – from Eric Pickles, and an aide to former housing minister, Grant Shapps.

Speaking at the New Local Government Network's annual conference on 30 January, the minister said the BBC was giving too much airtime to Labour-controlled local authorities complaining about the cuts.
