The mayor of Hackney LBC, Labour's Jules Pipe, has been elected as the new chair of London Councils. Mr Pipe became the directly-elected mayor of Hackney in 2002 and has since been re-elected twice, most recently in this year's all-London elections. After the London ballots on 6 May, Labour seized control of London Councils back from the Conservatives after re-assuming control of key boroughs in the capital, such as Camden and Ealing.
