Where is the 10-year plan for local government?

Heather Jameson says it would be 'hard to argue with a vision for a people-centred, community-based, tech-enabled, preventative health service as outlined by the Government last week'. But it will need a functioning care system, she adds.

Whether it was a coincidence or meticulous timing, the launch of the Government's 10-year plan for the NHS dropped as deputy prime minister Angela Rayner addressed the Local Government Association annual conference in Liverpool. 

The key theme is public service reform – an ambitious plan to modernise public services, devolve from central government and create modern, locally-tailored, tech-enabled services for the future.
