Team Leader: Major Applications

(Permanent) - £48,647 p.a

Senior Planner: Major Applications (1 year Fixed Term Contract) - £36,653 p.a

Based in Bristol

The Planning Inspectorate is responsible for the determination of a range of appeals and the examination of Local Plans and National Infrastructure Development.

The Growth and Infrastructure Act 2013 extends the range of our activity, and in response to this new requirement, we are creating a team within our Major Applications and Plans Directorate to handle applications on behalf of the Secretary of State.

The Team Leader will lead and manage the Professional Planning Team, as well as working with applicants during the pre-application and application stages of major application casework. The Senior Planner will be responsible for providing technical and professional assistance and support to the decision making process across a range of Inspectorate work.

For both roles, we are seeking high calibre individuals who can demonstrate significant experience of handling major applications within a Local Planning Authority context. Successful candidates will also have proven development management skills. You will work to demanding deadlines whilst keeping your focus on shaping quality applications and supporting the decision making process.
