A new bio-processing plant in Durham, which offers councils an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of domestic waste, will be commissioned next month. The Premier Advanced Recycling Centre (Parc) in Thornley has been developed by Premier Waste Management and CiViC Environmental Systems, under the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' new technologies demonstrator programme. ‘Parc is a highly-flexible system capable of processing both source segregated and un-segregated waste streams,' said Premier Waste Management chief executive, Dr Les Grant.
