Ceredigion CC has called on the Welsh Assembly first minister, Rhodri Morgan, to save the tax and revenues office in Aberystwyth. The office could close and staff would be moved to Cardiff, but Ceredigion CC leader, Keith Evans, said 40 jobs could be lost. ‘Aberystwyth is becoming an important centre for business in mid Wales,' he said. ‘A blow like this could damage years of work, and would be a serious loss to the local economy.'
