Mrs Poore's rich contribution

After 60 years of charity work, Peta Poore has been recognised by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea's mayor, Cllr Tim Ahern.

Since the end of the Second World War, Mrs Poore has collected each year for the Royal British Legion poppy appeal. In 2004, she personally collected £13,000 for the RBL. ‘I am delighted that it should be during my mayoralty that we have a chance to recognise, formally, the amazing contribution she has made and to express the gratitude of so many people for her work,' said Cllr Ahern.
