The campaign to save local post offices has gathered pace, with both Norfolk and Essex councillors taking the lead. South Norfolk councillor, Michael Windridge, cabinet member for tourism, heritage, enterprise and culture, said: ‘I will be writing to each of the 55,000 households in South Norfolk warning them of Post Office Ltd's intended closure programme for the rural network.' And the leader of Essex CC, Lord Hanningfield, said: ‘Between them, Post Office boss, Adam Crozier, and minister, John Hutton, have the chance to save the heart of our communities – our post offices.'
