Using the power of conversation to improve people's lives

Oxfordshire CC's participation in the national Making Every Contact Count initiative has transformed its libraries into thriving centres for information, engagement, and empowerment, says Mark McCree.

Across Oxfordshire, libraries are evolving far beyond their traditional roles, blossoming into centres of community engagement and wellbeing. 

Libraries are welcoming, trusted spaces, community hubs where thousands of conversations occur daily between staff, volunteers and library customers. We've harnessed this to help improve health and wellbeing for our residents with the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) Initiative.
