Support services company HBS is celebrating after its work with Milton Keynes Council was praised by the Audit Commission. A new corporate assessment report, which is part of the CPA rating process, describes the unitary council as ‘performing well’, and commends its work with partners, such as HBS. The company has worked in partnership with the council since 2004, providing HR, IT and financial services support. It has also helped streamline systems for housing repairs and benefits. ‘We are delighted the partnership is making a real difference and look forward to continuing to support the council on the road to further improvement,’ said HBS Milton Keynes strategic director, Sean Hanson. The Unity Partnership, comprising HBS and Mouchel Parkman, was named last month as preferred bidder for the Oldham MBC Strategic Partnership. The partnership is worth £260m over the next 10 years and will deliver the council’s customer services, highways and property services. HBS chief executive, Peter Manning, said: ‘Through the Unity Partnership, we will be co-ordinating and supplying regeneration and service projects, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.’
