North Lanarkshire Council has been criticised by the Information Commissioner's Office after sensitive information was stolen from a council worker's unlocked bag.
The data privacy regulator investigated the breach involving a visiting schedule with information relating to the mental or physical health of six vulnerable adults supported by the council's housing and social services department. Inquiries found that guidance issued by the council to its support workers on handling personal information outside the office was inadequate.
