Buckinghamshire CC's decision to outsource all of its recruitment to the private sector is likely to set a popular precedent, senior managers have said. Buckinghamshire announced on 6 August that all of its future recruitment would be conducted by the firm Hays – the first tie-up of its kind in England, and a move likely to slash the county's recruitment costs. The MJ understands at least three other large councils are considering similar deals with private firms, making extensive use of online tools. One finance director said: ‘There will be a lot of interest in the Buckinghamshire project. ‘It is well known that other councils are keen on similar deals.'
