Childcare practitioners in Scotland are being urged to show proof of qualifications, skills and good character before compulsory registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) takes effect on 30 September.
The social care watchdog calculates that around 2,150 staff working in children services, such as nursery nurses, have yet to sign up.
