Conservatives and Reform UK have proposed a requirement for local authorities to hold a referendum in order to increase council tax by 5% or more.

Conservatives and Reform UK have proposed a requirement for local authorities to hold a referendum in order to increase council tax by 5% or more.

The measure is already in place in England.
