Public say they doubt private firms 'can soak up axed staff'

The public are not convinced the private sector will be able to soak up redundant public sector workers, according to latest research from pollster, Ipsos MORI.

The public are not convinced the private sector will be able to soak up redundant public sector workers, according to latest research from pollster, Ipsos MORI.

Despite government claims that the private sector will fill the jobs gap, 80% of people don't believe there are enough private sector jobs to make up for public sector staff cuts. Nor are the public convinced public services will improve under the current government.
