WHITEHALL

Public services recognised

Public services in Wales have been recognised in the third Welsh Local Government Association's Excellence Wales Award.

Twenty-six awards were given to councils, police authorities, national park authorities and fire and rescue services. ‘Many have contributed to the scheme's success, but fundamentally it is Welsh local government and its wider family who have embraced the concept and principles of Excellence Wales,' said Steve Thomas, chief executive of the WLGA.
