Private landlords in South Tyneside who joined an initiative to ensure a better standard of living for tenants have received the first certificates issued under the scheme. The private rented accreditation scheme is being piloted in the Rekendyke area of South Shields and in Boldon Newtown, before going borough-wide in two years.
