Essex CC has become the first local authority in the country to launch its own quality of life department. The unit will be looking at what can be done to improve life in the county and encourage local people to become more involved in the community. ‘The county is facing a huge amount of growth in coming years and it is vital to us that quality of life remains at the forefront of our thinking and our work,' said Cllr Jeremy Lucas.
