Nine staff have been handed ‘golden goodbyes' of more than £200,000, while one has pocketed £275,000 as part of the coalition's ‘bonfire of the quangos'.
According to figures released following Freedom of Information requests, more than £70m in redundancy payouts have been made under plans to scrap hundreds of public bodies. Critics of the Government's plan said they were disappointed at the slow pace of closures.
