There are two declared candidates - David Parson's of Leicestershire & Sir Merrick Cockell of Kensington & Chelsea.Very different styles & very different propositions. It struck me though that when the establishment at the LGA comes out & attacks David Parson's (the current leadership including the Chief Executive is not keen on him)that is probably of significant value to Parson's campaign. Add the broadside from Lib Dem Richard Kemp you would almost think they want him to win.Merrick's biggest handicap is going to be the London issue, on a personal level I actually rather like both of the candidates, but I rather suspect David Parson's is actually going to win.
