Trading standards officers from across the South East have been helping Surrey CC deal with the latest foot-and-mouth outbreak. Surrey CC's head of trading standards, Peter Denard, said officers from Hampshire, West Sussex and Kent CCs had all been drafted in to help. Mr Denard said the extra staff had helped get information out to the local farming community and the public. Animal health officers have been ensuring that all the restrictions on the movement of livestock are being complied with.
