Shadow minister, Alan Duncan, has signalled that RDAs do have a future under a Conservative Government. Speaking at the Policy Exchange this week, Mr Duncan said RDAs ‘will be a different beast' under the Tories, and more ‘business-led bodies with a natural interest in stimulating and nuturing the growth of the local enterprise culture'. Mr Duncan said there were ‘strong arguments' for keeping some of the RDAs, including One North East ‘where there is strong local support and a keen business focus'.
