Housing plans for the South West are unrealistic, claims the area's regional assembly. Chairman of the South West Regional Assembly's planning group, Cllr Mike Bawden, said: ‘The Government seems to be pre-occupied with numbers rather than getting things done.' The National Housing and Planning Advisory Unit has recommended a minimum of 30,000 new homes a year.
