We are in the grip of a national housing crisis – one of the most urgent and complex challenges facing councils across the country.

In Islington, the impact is stark. Soaring private rents – up more than 13% – are pushing more people into housing insecurity, while decades of under-investment in council housebuilding have left a severe shortage of genuinely affordable homes.
