Two councils have run interactive recruitment adverts in a bid to lure interest. Senior managers at Oldham MBC appeared on a live video broadcast during a ‘webinar' to talk to applicants about the councils ambitions. The webinar was announced exclusively in The MJ three weeks ago, and was delivered by the council's recruitment partner, Tribal. Oldham's chief executive, Charlie Parker, said: ‘The event was a tremendous opportunity to explain our vision to candidates. We had excellent questions from participants and I hope both the leader and I will have convinced people that Oldham will be a fantastic career opportunity.' Kettering BC also ran an unusual advert in The MJ which involved setting a puzzle for applicants to solve. A spokesperson said the unusual approach generated ‘a lot of interest.'
