Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MWRA) has opened a second replacement recycling centre in the Knowsley area.
Sited in Huyton, the new centre has capacity to process up to 20,000 tonnes of householders' waste and recyclable material each year, claims the municipal waste authority, which also services Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral councils.
